Breaking: NIA DG, Rufai Abubakar, resigns

Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Rufai Abubakar, has resigned .

Abubakar personally tendered his resignation to President Bola Tinubu.

The DG was first appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018 in and his tenure extended was in December 2021.

Abubakar announced his resignation after briefing President Bola Tinubu “After the briefing I actually tendered my resignation and Mr President graciously approved and accepted the resignation”, he said in an interview with journalist in the State House, Abuja
