Aftermath of Rivers LG poll. Eleme secretariat set on fire

A section of the Eleme Local Government Area secretariat in Rivers State has been torched.

According to Channels Television, the newly elected Chairman, Brain Gokpa, in company with his councillors and supporters, arrived at the LG secretariat to discover that some buildings in the complex had been set ablaze.

The Channels Television report cited a phone conversation with former Ambassador Oji Ngofa who hails from Eleme.The report said palpable fear of a potential outbreak of violence in some LGAs has enveloped the state.

Eleme is one of the local governments win by the All Peoples Party (APP) in Saturday’s election.
