Plateau LG election: CP announces restriction on Wednesday
CP Emmanuel Adesina, Plateau state commissioner of Police, has announced the restriction of movement in the state for the local government elections scheduled for Wednesday, October 9.
He said that the restriction of movement is from from 12 am to 6 pm
.Adesina announced this during a stakeholders meeting on Monday in Jos.He said that the action was to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for eligible voters to exercise their rights.
The police boss disclosed that the restriction of movement was aimed at preventing any form security threats during the exercise.
The commissioner urged politicians to refrain from making utterances capable of inciting mayhem.
He also sought their cooperation for a peaceful election.
He said, “We need to restrict movement during those hours so that residents of Plateau can go out and cast their votes without molestation.”
He urged parents to warn their children to stay at home, stressing that only eligible voters can go to the polling booths nearest to exercise their fundamental rights.
