Ministry of Regional Devt: Senator I.D Gyang Urges NASS To Expedite Action On North Central Development Commission Bill

Senator I. D. Gyang, who represented Plateau North in the 9th Senate has urged the 10th National Assembly to expedite action on the passage of the North Central Development Commission Bill

Gyang was co-sponsor of the Bill when he was in the senate He said that the call had become necessary following the creation of the Ministry for Regional Development.

Already, the Development Commissions for the Niger Delta, North East, North West, South East and South West have been established by law with that of the North Central geo-polical zone still outstanding.

In a statement , Gyang further submitted that the 2025 Budget will provide for the Ministry for Regional Development, hence it is incumbent on the Senate and House of Representatives to hasten legislative action on the passage of the Bill to ensure that the North Central is not left out of the budget.

He said to that the North Central could not afford to be left out of the well conceived regional development initiative by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The former senator expressed convinction that even the President is eagerly awaiting the Bill on the North Central Development Commission from the National Assembly to be assented into law.
